The Decoration collection: a model of eco-friendly design
The stories behind our objects
Every Diptyque object is the fruit of an encounter, with its own story to tell. This might be an encounter with a material, whether recycled – like our paperweights made from glass scraps collected from Murano glassblowers – or repurposed, like our Médicis vase made of white wax. It might also be an encounter with a skilled artisan chosen for their talent, whose creative process is meticulously upheld. Our iconic Fresnel candle holders, for example, were created in the workshops of one of France’s last semi-automatic glassmakers, Waltersperger, which has been named an Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (“Living Heritage Company”). These exceptional pieces, produced in a limited edition of just one thousand per year to safeguard the size of the company and guarantee our partner’s independence, have helped to amplify the reputation and prestige of this century-old glass and crystal maker.

Redesigning the packaging for our Decoration collection
Diptyque designed eco-friendly packaging to protect our decorative objects on their journeys from our factories to your homes. Made from micro-flute corrugated cardboard, the boxes contain recyclable protective paper and use solvent-free inks and glues. Once emptied, the boxes, decorated with motifs from the Maison’s archives, can be recycled or reused as desired. A first step in our approach to reducing packaging waste.
