Designing sustainable objects
Our three priorities are to:
- Reduce the quantity of materials used to manufacture our products, including single-use cardboard and plastic boxes
- Replace virgin or non-recyclable materials with recycled or recyclable alternatives
- Give our creations multiple lives by extending our refillable ranges and encouraging the creative reuse of our objects
-
84 %
of our product range* is recyclable**
-
25 %
of our product range* is refillable
-
60 %
of the glass used to make the bottles and candle jars in our La Droguerie range comes from recycled materials.
Refilling and reusing our products
Since the Maison’s very beginnings, Diptyque’s creations have been designed to last – to be handed down from one generation to another. It is essential to us that our products live many lives. We aim to gradually expand our range of refillable products and reduce their impact the more they are (re)used. Our latest creation, Les Mondes de Diptyque, is our first range of refillable candles – decorative objects truly designed to stand the test of time. Each refill – available in the collection’s five scents – takes the form of a wax bar moulded in an ultra-lightweight, eco-designed plastic shell made from 100% recycled and recyclable plastic**.
As soon as the first refill is purchased, the environmental impact of the candle is reduced by 46% over its entire life cycle***.
Our best-selling fragrances may also be refilled at selected boutiques.
How to refill a Les Mondes de Diptyque candle
- Excluding limited-edition products and the Decoration collection.
** Check your local sorting guidelines.
*** Comparison of greenhouse gas emissions, expressed as CO2e, between the purchase of two non-refilled Les Mondes de Diptyque candles and one Les Mondes de Diptyque candle refilled once with the wax refill. The assessment takes into account the environmental impact of the packaging (candle jar and outer box) over its entire life cycle and the nature of the materials, their origin, the manufacturing process and the finishing of the components, their transport and the transport of the finished product and its end of life. Calculations based on the Life Cycle Assessment method for cosmetic packaging and the SPICE Tool.
