Holistic care rituals inspired by ancient bathing traditions.

Since its inception, the founders of Diptyque have held a deep passion for ancient civilizations. Guided by this fascination, the Maison draws inspiration from the beauty rituals of the ancient bath to create a collection of beneficial treatments for both body and mind. The decor collection embodies this holistic vision, creating a poetic setting. Each bathroom accessory accompanies the ritual. In biscuit porcelain and lacquered wood, the Maison honors two exceptional materials.

The fruit of centuries-old know-how, each lacquered wood object is entirely handcrafted by artisans in Ha Thai, a traditional lacquer village in Vietnam. After the wooden object is crafted, the piece receives an average of 15 successive coats of lacquer before being hand-painted. Carefully sanded and polished, the lacquer finally reveals a smooth surface and a mirror finish. A patient quest for excellence and an eye for detail guarantee infinite shine and depth of colors.
The piece is adorned with a decorative motif achieved through silkscreening, a printing technique that uses stencils (originally silk screens) placed between the ink and the surface, and is then finished by hand with a brush.
The storage compartments of the jewelry gift set are made from hand-woven rattan, the fruit of Vietnamese know-how.

To preserve the condition of lacquered wooden pieces:
- Handle the object with care and avoid direct contact with anything that could scratch or damage the lacquer (certain fragrances, alcohols, oils…).
- Ideally, keep the object out of direct sunlight and away from fluctuations in temperature and humidity.
- Clean the object with a soft, dry cloth.
