Holistic care rituals inspired by ancient bathing traditions.

Since its inception, the founders of Diptyque have held a deep passion for ancient civilizations. Guided by this fascination, the Maison draws inspiration from the beauty rituals of the ancient bath to create a collection of beneficial treatments for both body and mind. The decor collection embodies this holistic vision, creating a poetic setting. Each bathroom accessory accompanies the ritual. In biscuit porcelain and lacquered wood, the Maison honors two exceptional materials.

The result of centuries of expertise, each lacquered wooden piece is meticulously handcrafted by artisans from Ha Thai, a village in Vietnam, where the traditional technique originated. After construction, each piece receives an average of 15 successive coats of lacquer before hand-painting. After careful sanding and polishing, the lacquer finally reveals a smooth surface with a mirror-like finish. A patient quest for excellence and an eye for detail guarantee infinite brilliance and depth of color.
The piece is adorned with a decorative motif achieved through screen printing, a printing technique that uses stencils (originally, silk screens) placed between the ink and the surface, then retouched by hand with a brush.

To preserve the condition of lacquered wooden pieces:
- Handle the object with care and avoid direct contact with anything that could scratch or damage the lacquer (certain fragrances, alcohols, oils…).
- Ideally, keep the object out of direct sunlight and away from fluctuations in temperature and humidity.
- Clean the object with a soft, dry cloth.
